The new Panasonic LX3

Panasonic-LX31

Will this be the one to beat and will Canon do that?

This is maybe that point where more folks will be sort of forced to make a decision for something new or for staying with a brand. Talk has it that Canon will launch a new G series with as much as 14MP and possibly things like GPS. Is that something the enthusiast is asking for or is that something the mass market is asking for?

Amongst all the different models do we really need another marketing camera?

There are a few exciting examples today of manufacturers listening to the market. The DP1 from Sigma was launched at the high performance market and so the new LX3 from Panasonic and many of us are waiting in great interest for the new Micro Four Thirds from Olympus. Olympus has been a pioneer in terms of pushing the envelope and they not scared bringing out new technologies and new ideas.

The G series to date has been a really unique series of great cameras. I trust that we will see another great one. Personally I sold all my old G series and my money is under my bed ready to be spend. I cannot wait to report on my new compact...

My Book

PowerShot G7 / G9 Book

I wrote this book to help the G7 owner have more fun with his or hers new camera.

It is aimed at the person who likes to learn about the G7 while reading about photographic topics. Its therefor not only about the G7, the book also covers a large amount of general discussion on noise, exposure, flash work plus basic accessories.

When finishing the book the G9 was launched and I had enough time to add the most recent Photoshop RAW converter and how to convert a RAW file in the book.

Written for the G7 and being basically the same camera I will recommend it to the G9 owner also. Click on the above picture to see purchase details....
